The quality and light output level of is very good, in fact the previous reviewers have it just about right.

Arrived on Tuesday morning following ordering Sunday night - and really close to Christmas. Cannot fault the service - excellent.

A breeze to assemble, although I could understand that it could be a little awkward for someone without a reasonable level of strength in their wrists. The base is fairly heavy which doesn't become a problem until you come to fix the top lamp section and have to support the weight while not cross-threading the joint - and the cable wraps around the upright as you twist. Not difficult, as I said just potentially awkward.

The light level/output enables a comfortable read - and here's the but. Daylight? I think not. It may well be the same kelvin value, but it is most surely not daylight, being very flat and unnatural feeling - to me at least. I also find that colours lose their vibrancy.

This may just be years of working with tungsten and fluorescent lighting and the fact that I need to become accustomed to it, don't know. What it does, however, is cause me to only give it four stars.

27/12 As an update - using this light as the main source with my computer and kindle, I have to say this where it excels. Photography software and colour matching is improved beyond end. For this unexpected use alone I am going to have to upgrade my review to five stars.

The daylight bulb makes the newspaper or whatever so much easier for him to read and he and my mother love the design. In fact I think mum wants one for herself as he sight is poor as well. I would really recommend this light for the great design and the brightness it gives. The price and delivery were also excellent. I ordered it during a weekend and it arrived at my parent's house on the Tuesday morning which is pretty impressive to say the least.
